5 braids to rock this summer

Humidity’s rising, frizz is beginning to show.
According to all sources, braids are where to go

We love summer, but sometimes summer doesn’t love our hair back… Sun damage is a major source of dryness and breakage, and humidity seems to send our hair into a frizz the moment we step out our doors!

That’s why braids can be summer hair’s BFF. Here are 5 of our favourite braid-styles to keep your hair perfect throughout the day, and night!

Crown Braid

Crown braids are the perfect summer boho look and are suitable for both medium and long hair.

French or dutch braid your hair for a daytime ‘do that keeps all your wisps at bay, or go for a full twisted crown braid for an effortless chic look to rock any event, no matter how casual or formal.

For hair prone to frizz: keep braids tight, spray into place, and always have extra pins in your handbag!

Bubble Braids

Channel your inner Princess Jasmine with a simple – but oh so stylish – bubble braid. Either single or double braid and rock the look at a festival or while lounging by the pool on your hols.

We’re not sure though if we’d risk it getting wet!!

Double Dutch Pigtail Braids

We think a dutch braid can be more effective than a french braid for keeping summer frizz under control, and it also makes a nice change!

Double pigtail braids are also perfect for an active day. They’ll stay in place during your morning gym sesh, casual coffee break, evening drinks and even a dip in the holiday pool!

Single Strand Braid

A grown-up version of those coloured thread braids we used to pester our parents to buy us on holidays! This super simple look elevates and gives a summery vibe to you usual down do and would be great for any casual evening get together with friends.

Flower Power Braids

Flowery braids are not just for festivals. Interlace any braid with fresh or faux flowers to give your look some colour and a breezy, nature vibe.

Final tip: keep your locks in top health by always using a UV-protection spray this summer!
